Submitting to Eyecandy
Hello! Thanks for contributing to our platform. Eyecandy is community-driven and relies on submissions to be featured on our Instagram as well as added to our database website.
Please email the submission to jacobi@eycndy.com. with the subject header “WEBSITE SUBMISSION” for clips you’d like considered for our website, OR the subject header “INSTAGRAM FEATURE” for videos you’d like considered for our Instagram.
Scroll down for information specific to website clip submissions.
Option 01: Submitting short GIFs
Technical Details
Please submit as a GIF (between 1-5 seconds, and around 5mb in size but no larger than 10mb)
We recommend downloading the video to your desktop and using the program ‘Gifski’ to create the GIF.
Within Gifski, we recommend using the below settings: 800width. 15-20 FPS. High quality. If the GIF comes out less than 5mb with these settings, you can adjust the FPS and quality to a higher size. If the GIF comes out more than 10mb with these settings, consider reducing size to 700width, or 600width.
If it is a short clip, you might consider checking the ‘Bounce’ box, which will cause the GIF to ‘bounce’ back and forth like this.
If the clip needs to be longer, we will accept larger GIF sizes on rare occasion, but nothing can be uploaded above 15mb.
Editorial Details (OPTIONAL)
If possible, please provide the following details:
Title of work if applicable (e.g. Artist - Title)
Year work was released
About: Either a short bio about the film, or a clip breakdown, or anything else you find helpful.
Tutorial Link: Could be anything that would link someone to learn more about that clip technique. I’ve linked to articles, videos, and even influencers that break down Eyecandy’s techniques themselves.
Video Link: Link to the original source. Vimeo/Youtube preferred, but I’ve linked to personal sites of directors, Giphy for GIFs, and other sites for work that goes outside the ‘film’ category.
Tags: The terms you might use to find this content. Day/night? Exterior/Interior? Warm/Cool/Neutral? What was the camera they used? The lens? Aspect ratio? There is no limit to the tags we use, but YOU DO NOT need to tag title, year, or credits.
Credits: Please let us know the Director(s), Cinematographer(s), Editor(s), and Colorist(s).
Technique: Could be one technique or could be many.
Option 02: Submitting the full-length video
Technical Details
Please submit as a Vimeo/YouTube link or from a website that shows the title for us to do our own research, or submit as an MP4 file with relevant information. 1080p is sufficient resolution since these will be reduced in size down to 800p or even 600p.
